Vickie & Morgan's Wedding at Crabwall Manor

On 23rd May, our good friends Vickie and Morgan got married! I've known Vickie since we were at sixth form together, and Morgan ever since they both got together. We're looking forward to them becoming godparents to Siena later this summer! So, as you may imagine, it was really pleasing and also a bit more nerve wracking than usual to be the official photographer at their lovely wedding.

Family, friends and guests can access an online gallery of a selection of wedding photographs here. The password is their married name in lowercase, plus an exclamation mark e.g. smith!

Back to the day itself. We started off by meeting up with Morgan and the guys looking very smart in suits from Slaters and getting his reaction to his surprise from Vickie - a ride in a nifty 2 seater Morgan sportscar supplied by Silverline Cars, to the church! He also showed off his monogrammed cufflinks and beautiful pocket watch, all bought for the occasion!

After leaving Morgan and the guys, it was over to Crabwall Manor to meet up with Vickie and her beautiful bridesmaids Fiona, Kathy, Lucy, Lydia and Chloe. Vickie's dress was by Papilion and the bridesmaids' Alfred Angelo, all from Cardiff Bridal Centre. Vickie's bouquet and other flowers were by Ivy Florist, of Thingwall.

Running a little later, Vickie and the bridesmaids left for the Church in a Vintage Model A Ford, supplied by Heritage Motors. The cars looked fab, and they seemed to go pretty fast too, as I left before them and had only just got my camera gear out of the car when the bridal party arrived at Holy Cross Church (which looked just beautiful adorned with flowers). Inside, Morgan was looking cool and just ever-so-slightly nervous...

The ceremony was lovely, vows made, bride and groom conratulated by family and friends and confetti thrown at the lych gate, and then it was back into the bridal cars!

We headed back to Crabwall Manor and an afternoon of photography of bride, groom and guests enjoying a rare dry (and occasionally sunny) Saturday.

We just had time to pretend cut the cake (beautifully made by Daisy Hill) and then everyone enjoyed the lovely wedding breakfast. Siena didn't cry too much and I was able to get fab photos of guests enjoying the speeches from Chris, John, Billy, Fergs, Morgan and Fi.

We just had time for some more pictures in the beautiful setting sun behind Crabwall before it was time for the first dance with music and lights by David Summers...and then a nice rest!

It was a great day and from myself, Beverley and Siena, thanks to all!

Jennie & Rob's Wedding at Shaw Hill

A few weeks ago I was lucky to be photographing Jennie & Rob's fab wedding which took place at Shaw Hill Hotel, Golf and Country Club near Chorley on 22 May.

If you are a friend, family member or guest and want to see photos from the wedding you can click on this link. To enter you'll need to register, which only takes a few seconds, and to enter Jennie & Rob's surname in lowercase followed by an exclamation mark, e.g. jones!

The day began, as weddings seem to this year, with me dodging rain as I headed to get photos of the groom in his suit before he left for Shaw Hill in a funky stretch limo.

After that it was a quick dash up to Shaw Hill to get photographs of Rob arriving, the ceremony room set up and dressed for the wedding, and Jennie getting ready, helped by her mum and bridesmaids. Jennie's beautiful dress was by The Brides Gallery and the bridesmaids' from The Glass Slipper in Chorley.

All the flowers and the lovely bouquets were made by Jennie's very talented sister Joanne!

The ceremony was held in Shaw Hill's "gold room" with bride and groom lit by natural light flooding in from the windows - great for photography.

Afterwards we were able to get some photos outside before the heavens opened again and everyone took shelter. It rained on and off for the rest of the day, but everyone had a great time and it didn't spoil a thing.

After a short break whilst everyone enjoyed the wedding breakfast, I was back photographing the speeches and the cake cutting - I love getting natural reactions and informal reportage style photography.
I'd like to thank Jennie & Rob's DJ from Superb Functions - he was the first I've ever known who asked me what sort of lighting I'd like for photos and tried different things... really helpful!
As for the dancing - well, everyone had a great time - thanks to all for letting me share it.
